FILLIES AND FRIENDS
The first pony club near The Farmhouse was established in 1978. The original club room still stands today within the grounds of The NSW Gun Club. The club house was also utilised as a library and at times by
The Australian Red Cross. The club was named Forest Hill Pony Club combining one part of both Duffys Forest and Terrey Hills in unison.
In 1991, a terrible storm destroyed much of the riding clubs’ facilities with large fallen trees, and the club was forced to relocate. During those years, the access to the new site consisted of having to cross
The Mona Vale Road. This was a treacherous ride, and a dangerous crossing due to four-lane traffic. A police escort was implemented to allow for safe crossings, and a plea to the government to upgrade the roads, including an underpass were successful, allowing safer and easier travel to the new site.
The Terry Hills based Pony Club still remains today.
